Disney's The Incredibles Preview

Based on the yet to be released Pixar movie, The Incredibles is a game based on the super heroes that star in the movie. Taking control of each character, you battle your way through 18 different levels and many mini games. It looks to be aimed at a younger audience, but if you enjoy the movie or the humor of Pixar movies you’ll most likely have fun with this game no matter how old you are.

The graphics of the game resemble the movie in that it’s fairly cartoony looking yet detailed. The game’s main theme seemed to be platform jumping and beating up the bad guys, but one of the mini games you experience featured the main character training by lifting train cars. There was a vertical bar in the middle of the screen, and a horizontal bar moved up and down along it. You had to press the correct button right as the moving bar was within the required area to successfully lift the train car. This was the only mini game I saw, but it’s safe to assume there will be more.

The Incredibles looks to be a fun platformer for all ages, and since it’s Pixar you can expect humor to be thrown into the mix. Look for The Incredibles in Fall 2004.
