Multi Platform Video Game Developer and Publisher Presents “Classic” Knucklehead Antics and Zany Game Action To Stooges Fans Worldwide
SAN JOSE, California (March 28, 2002) – Metro3D, Inc., the multi-platform video game developer and publisher, today announced it has begun shipping The Three Stooges(R) for Nintendo(R) Game Boy(R) Advance throughout North America for a debut on store shelves this week. This “classic” comedy
and action-packed game developed by Cinemaware, Inc. features an ESRB rating for “Everyone,” and a U.S. manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $29.95.
“We are excited to launch the first of our 2002 titles, The Three Stooges for Game Boy Advance which is sure to bring hours of family fun to gamers of all ages and genders,” said Joseph Morici, senior vice president of sales and marketing, Metro3D. “Whether it’s older audiences who want to relive all the hilarious antics of the timeless comedic trio or a whole new generation of gamers experiencing The Three Stooges’ wild schemes and nyuk, nyuk, nyuk for the first time, this is one title that will thrill and endure in the hearts of video game enthusiasts everywhere.”
In The Three Stooges game, players experience all the worldwide appeal and hysteria that those zany masters of mirth – Larry, Curly & Moe – brought to the television and motion pictures in the 1920s. On a quest to save an old lady’s orphanage and her three beautiful daughters from the cruel clutches of an evil banker, The Three Stooges have only 30 days to earn $5,000 from whatever odd jobs they can land and save the day.
All the while, The Three Stooges takes players on an interactive adventure through multiple levels of stunning graphics and slapstick game play, including original Stooges scenes with pie throwing, prize-fighting and wild hospital hi-jinx. This newly enhanced version of The Three Stooges showcases Cinemaware’s unique style of developing quality games that combines rich, cinematic animation and graphics with numerous levels of challenging game-play. The Three Stooges features high-spirited action, compelling Stooges trivia, original Stooges animation plus the well-known comedic sequences and outrageous family-oriented fun those original three knuckleheads brought to life in their most popular television shows and films.
“The Three Stooges franchise is one of the most highly respected and recognized brands in the world, and we look forward to sharing some of their most legendary comedic antics and action-packed scenes through our latest installment to the video game series exclusively for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance,” said Keith Moore, chief executive officer and president, Cinemaware.
