The Scorpion King Hits Theaters April 19

Get ready to smell what the Rock is cookin! Superstar wrestler Dwayne Johnson's super-tough, super-fun alter ego The Rock has already used his trademark right raised eyebrow and his patented "People's Elbow" to slam his way to the title of Intercontinental Champion of the WWF a record six times; now he’s going to the movies!

Having popped up in television guest spots everywhere from That 70’s Show and the Martha Stewart show to Saturday Night Live, The Rock’s natural next career move was to head for Hollywood and play in the big league. Not one to run away from a challenge, he made his feature film debut in the star-studded action-horror movie The Mummy Returns, in which he played the fearsome Scorpion King. His new movie, The Scorpion King, in which he plays the titular character, will be released April 19, 20002 by Sony Pictures.

Graced with an awesome soundtrack featuring the likes of Godsmack, Ozzy Osbourne, P.O.D., and Creed, the movie takes place in very early ancient Egypt, and deals with the history of a muscular peasant, played by the Rock, who goes on gigantic rampage after an invading army who pillages. Framed as kind of a prequel to the series of events in The Mummy Returns, the Rock battles his way to the top job of Egypt’s First Pharaoh of Egypt, known as the Scorpion King.

And so that you can re-live the glory of the Rock’s lightening-fast fight style again and again, GBA has kindly released a red-hot original title: The Scorpion King: Sword of Osiris. In the game, you play as the Rock as he instigates mayhem on a whole new set of ancient baddies. You'll need to perform death-defying jumps, climb ropes and dodge lethal obstacles like water and quicksand. Multiple attack combos beef up the gameplay, as do the special moves including the scimitar climb and the sword jump. 6 massive worlds with weather effects such as rain and sandstorms enhance the depth of the game, and ingenious enemies like Jackal Heads and Giant Beetles guarantee non-stop battle action. So grab some popcorn, see the movie and play the game as the Scorpion King smacks down some of the most intense action ever seen outside the ring.
